Classic Mallets play Bach
Instrumentalists:
Marimba, vibraphone: Roland Härdtner
Chamber orchestra
Solo-violin (ad libitum)
Harpsichord / positive organ (ad libitum)
Programme:
These works by Johann Sebastian Bach, who was Thomaskantor in Leipzig, were
rehearsed in the Bach year 2000 and are arrangements for mallets,
chamber orchestra and basso continuo without exception. Roland
Härdtner arranged the solo voices for his instruments and church
music director Prof. Rolf Schweizer arranged besides conducting the
orchestration for the Südwestdeutsche Kammerorchester. Bach 's
notation was carefully observed in this arrangements, but where the
string orchestra takes over the function of the basso continuo with
the corresponding chords, the notation was added in Bach's style.
Playing this
programme, the soloist can be booked separately, together with the
conductor or even the whole ensemble. Besides established concert
series, musical festivals and special events, church music festivals
are the perfect place for „Classic Mallets play Bach“.
